چکیده
ECENT ADVANCES in our knowledge commcerniisg the formatiomi amid dissolution of clots has emphasized the importanice of in vitro coagulation studies imi diagnosis and treatment. These studies geiserally involve one basic observatioms, i.e., the time necessary for the formation or dissolution of a visible clot. Technics based on this observation give no information about the quality of the clot, or the kinetics of its formation. Several attempts have been made to record continuously some physical property of the clot in order to follow its development or dissolution. Richardson amid Bishop’ have measured and recorded graphically the electrical conductivity of clotting systems. Aymerick, Massa and Velasquez2 have recorded continuously changes in viscosity during coagulation. Both these methods involve a significant degree of physical and/or electrical trauma which might produce artefacts, and both methods terminate in a peak end-point. Recently Harterttm has developed a precision instrument (thrombelastograph) which records changes in a physical characteristic of the clot during its development and also its dissolution. The record obtained (coagulogram) reflects certain characteristics of the quality of the clot amid the kinetics of its formatioms not appreciated by the usual methods of observing clotting. Our preliminary observations with this apparatus4 are extemided in this reports.

Introduction: Myocardial infarction as a leading cause of death in most populations is associated with blood clot formation in coronary artery, and rapid clot lysis is important for patient treatment. Some reports have indicated the effects of some trace elements on blood coagulation and clot lysis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of zinc, copper and aluminum on in-vitro coagu...

Different mechanisms leading to disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) are briefly discussed and the hemorrhagic diathesis which is brought about by this consumption coagulopathy is visualized. Since there is an emergency need for correct management of the disorder. The problem is simplified in order, any physician, to be able to understand the syndrome and to be catious in treating t...

Introduction: Effects of exercise on different body systems, especially cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems are evidenced. There is a dynamic homeostatic balance between coagulation and fibrinolysis in normal circulation. Effect of exercise and training on this homeostatic balance has been studied extensively but there are a few studies with regards to analysis of the effects of train...
متن کاملRevisiting Beta 2 Glycoprotein I, the Major Autoantigen in the Antiphospholipid Syndrome
Beta 2 glycoprotein I (β2GPI) is a single chain 50 kDa highly glycosylated glycoprotein at an approximate concentration of 4 μM in cells. The abundance of this protein in plasma and its high state of preservation indicate the important role of this protein in mammalian. In addition, β2GPI has a particular structure in the fifth domain, and is categorized as the major antigen recognized by autoa...

It has been recognized that patients with Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) show significant bleeding tendency which can be secondary to coagulopathies in these patients. Some coagulation abnormalities are thrombocytopenia, factor deficiencies, fibrinolysis and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC). According to high prevalence of CCHD and major operations in theses patients, th...
